From traditional aerobics to danced-based classes, the YMCA offers a variety of classes to engage those who want to get their workout in a social, group format. The Airport Area YMCA has the following classes available:

All classes listed are included in YMCA membership and are ongoing, so join in at any time. Classes may be canceled or times may change due to low attendance. Please refer to schedules regularly. All classes are designed to accommodate all fitness levels. 

A.B.S. (Abs, Back & Stretch) - 15 to 30 minutes of exercises that strengthen your core and back, along with stretching to improve flexibility. 

AOA (Active Older Adults) Fitness - A basic fitness class, great for beginner exercisers, that focuses on building strength and endurance. The class is formatted without music. 

BODYPUMP™ - This barbell workout challenges every major muscle group by using all of the best weight room-inspired exercises such as squats, presses, lifts and curls.  Express version is 45 minutes. 

BODYSHRED™- High intensity and endurance based interval  approach: 3 minutes of strength, 2 minutes of cardio, and 1 minute of abs. 

BodyVive - Is the low-impact, whole body group fitness workout that uses VIVE ™ balls, VIVE™ tubes and body weight to boost fitness and core strength.  

Cycle - Have the ride of your life! This class utilizes a stationary bike to take you up hills and through exhilarating intervals. Water bottle and towel a must!  Express version is 45 minutes. 

Gentle Yoga - This class is held at a slower pace and focuses on stretching all areas of the body, while releasing stress and tension from joints and muscles. 

Lo to Go - A class for all fitness levels that concentrates on the fundamentals of step, low-impact aerobics and muscle conditioning. This is a great class for beginners. 

Muscle Mix - Improves muscular strength and endurance through the use of hand weights, body weight and bands for a total-body workout. 

Pi-Yo - Is a fun, challenging class fusing Pilates and Yoga. You will burn calories, tone muscles, work on balance and get a great stretch. 

SilverSneakers® Classic - Have fun and move to the music with a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and daily living skills. Handheld weights, elastic tubing and a ball are offered for resistance; and a chair is used for seated or standing support. 

SilverSneakers® Cardio - Get up and go with an aerobics class for you - safe, heart-healthy and gentle on the joints. The workout includes easy-to-follow low-impact movement, and upper-body strength, abdominal conditioning, stretching and relaxation exercises designed to energize your active lifestyle. 

SilverSneakers Yoga - Will move your whole body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity. 

Tabata - An intense interval workout  

Step - Uses a single step bench and basic step choreography for a fun cardio workout. Warm up and cool down are included. 

Yoga - An effective way to build strength, stamina and flexibility while cultivating a sense of peace and well-being. *Sunday rotation: 1st  Heather, 2nd & 3rd Virginia, 4th & 5th Bob.  

Zumba™ - A fun combination of Latin and international dances such as Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia, Mambo Samba and more. Dance themes create a dynamic, exciting and effective workout that's easy to follow. 

Zumba Toning™ - When it comes to body sculpting, Zumba® Toning will enhance and tone all the target zones, including arms, abs and thighs. Zumba Toning is the perfect way to sculpt your body naturally while having a total blast.
