Parents

Welcome parents/chaperones to Camp Carter YMCA.  First of all we would like to thank you for taking time out of your schedule to help with your schools Outdoor Education field trip!  Without the support of parents like you this trip would not be possible.  That being said let me tell you about the responsibilities a chaperone has while at camp:

  • You are here to help out with the supervision of kids. So please help us keep track of kids and make sure that individual kids are not distracting the group.
  • There will be times when the OE staff is not with the group during free time. During this time you are responsible for looking after the children. Keep track of kids during this time and make sure they are following the camp rule, as well as the school rules.
  • There should not be any children riding in the chaperones vehicles while at camp, this includes truck beds.
  • There are some activities you may get to participate in, however please do not expect to, as children are the priority for OE staff.
  • Please refrain from smoking on camp property - this is a non-smoking facility.
  • Make sure to keep to the schedule that is given to you so that our classes stay on time, and the group receives the best quality programming.
  • Please have cell phones truned to silent or vibrate during classes as to not interrupt.
  • Chaperone and parent attendance is via the discretion of the school, only parents/chaperones with permission from the school may attend.
  •

Parents/Guardians can download the Parent Planning Pack here. It details all the information you need for you child's visit to camp, if you have any specific questions please direct them to Nathan Hulcy at: (817) 738-9241.
