Camp Carter’s CIT program is a teen leadership program for overnight campers. Participants in this program will develop leadership skills by increasing their understanding and use of the four core values of the YMCA: Caring, Honesty, Respect & Responsibility. Counselors In Training progress over the course of two years in the program. During the first year, CITs spend most of their time developing their skills. Second year CITs will continue to develop leadership skills with the added component of practical application. They will shadow counselors and live in cabins with campers. Also, during the second year, CITs go on a 3 day camping and canoeing trip on the Brazos River.
