From traditional aerobic classes to Zumba, the YMCA offers a variety of classes to engage those who want to get their work out in a social, group format. Classes are listed below. Not all classes are available at all locations.
Y Cardio & Strength ClassesY-Cycle
Come join the ride of your life! This non-impact endurance building class utilizes the stationary bike and will take you up hills and through a variety of drills. Water bottle and towel a must!Y-Basic Step
A cardio workout using motivating music and fun choreography on the step. Appropriate for all fitness levels. Y-Cardio Power
Designed to give each participant a total body workout. Each class will incorporate strength work with cardiovascular intervals. This class will challenge you from beginning to end.
Core Conditioning
Strengthen the core muscles; learn to stabilize the spine, pelvis and shoulder to provide a solid foundation for movement. Develop functional fitness and flexibility in this innovative new format. Appropriate for all fitness levels.
Muscle Mix
Improve muscular strength and endurance in just 40 minutes! Class may utilize hand weights, barbells and bands for a total body workout. Good for all fitness levels. Kickboxing
You will kick, punch and sweat your way to an increased level of fitness! This class is anon-contact heart pounding workout that usesathletic moves, sports drills and so much more to take kickboxing to the next level.
Y Dance Cardio Classes
Zumba ® Ditch the workout, join the party! Zumba is a combination of Latin and International dances such as Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia, Mambo and Samba among others that are not only FUN but exhilarating! The dance themes create a dynamic, exciting and effective workout that's easy to follow. The routines are presented in aerobics/interval training format with fast and slow moves that get the heart pumping, tone your body and burn a ton of calories!!!
Street BeatBring on your dancing shoes. This class combines Hip Hop moves with an influence of Latino and African styles of dance.
Cardio Salsa
Come move to the music and bring your dancing shoes! Join the Latin inspired dance class that you can enjoy as an introduction to Zumba or enjoy with your friends.
Y Mind & Body ClassesYogaStrengthen your mind, body and spirit as you lengthen, tone and relax your muscles. This class flows from one posture to another as you work on breathing techniques. Each class ends with relaxation.
Y-Pilates
Performed on a mat, this non-impact workout combines floor exercises to strengthen your core lower back, abdominals, glutes and thighs. Designed to lengthen, strengthen and tone all muscle groupsActive Older Adult Classes
Silver Sneakers® l Muscular Strength & Range of Movement Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are offered for resistance, and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.
SilverSneakers® ll Cardio CircuitCombine fun and fitness to increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance power with a standing circuit workout. Upper body strength work with hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball is alternated with non-impact aerobic choreography. A chair is offered for support, stretching, and relaxation exercises.
YogaStretch®
YogaStretch will move your body through a complete series of seated and standing poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of postures designed to increase flexibility, balance, and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity.
