YMCA YOUTH SPORTS
Youth sports leagues at the YMCA offer children a chance to learn teamwork skills and master a new sport. Coaches stress skill development, teamwork and sportsmanship rather than winning. Sports teams are a great way to bring the family together, meet new friends and enjoy exercise in a positive environment.

NEW: LEGACY SPORTS FALL PONY BASEBALL & SOFTBALL
The YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth introduces its first-ever Legacy Sports fall PONY baseball and softball programs.
Legacy Sports offers two programs this fall season, Legacy Sports Pony Recreational League and Legacy Pony Elite. Both are a new type of YMCA sports program aimed at offering kids varying levels of game play.
The recreational drafted-league is similar to traditional YMCA Baseball programs. The league is geared toward having fun and learning sport fundamentals, while encouraging sportsmanship and youth development. Players register for Legacy recreational baseball or softball and attend the “Coach Look and Draft” on August 16. Coaches then create teams that are intended to have a balance of talent to ensure all are competitive. The league follows PONY rules and will interlock with other local associations for more games and competition. Games are played at the YMCA Sports Complex and other fields in the area. Only All Star teams in the Spring league can earn a chance to advance to district competition.
The PONY Elite program is a more competitive, select baseball league for individuals and teams, without the expense and time commitment of traditional select teams. For more information on the Elite program, contact Mac Tucker at firstname.lastname@example.org.
PONY baseball & softball’s 10-game season runs late-August to October. The coach look & draft is August 16.
